| I developed an interest in playing guitar at age six. I would get my brother's guitar and drag it (I was to little to lift it) outside under a tree and play along with the radio. I would watch and listen as my brothers played, especially when the holidays would come along. We would all gather in a room and play for hours. Eventually, I was old enough to join in either on the guitar or the drums. That was a special time for us. We still get together every holiday and play for our family. Over the years I have written numerous songs, performed on stage as a lead singer, back-up singer, played lead guitar, rhythm guitar, drums, performed at private parties, performed at Governors, Patrick's, and opened for many entertainers such as Vince Gill, Lori Morgan, Exile, Patti Loveless, and Kenny Chesney, just to name a few. My band has played for Cancer Relay for Life, the Stocking Full of Love, benefits for cancer victims and their families, and raised money and toys for families in need at Christmas. Our band, the "Sleepin Hounds" is made up of six guys; my brothers Clifton, Paul, and Tim; our nephew, Tommy; and our "brother by choice" Richard. I also have four other dedicated "fans", my mother Sada, my brothers Harlan and Huelan, and my sister Charlotte. Our goal, as the "Sleepin Hounds", is to create a fun place for families to spend time together. We have made wonderful, life-time friends over the past few years. Our band and our fans have gone through some tough times. We have stood together and supported each other through surgeries, cancer, and sadfully death. So on behalf of Steve & the Sleepin Hounds, we invite you to come to Troy's Place, in Ringgold Georgia, every Friday night. We start playing at 8:00 p.m. and stop about 11:00 p.m. We promise you good music and lots of fun. But more important, we promise that you will make special friendships that will last a life time. |
